Knit Here, Crochet There – Work In Progress

5 Nov

I bought this local cotton yarn the other day and now i’m starting to put the hook onto it without any vision what i’m gonna make. So i kinda play with the granny square pattern and let’s just see where it takes me :D

This is my first attempt on blocking and now i know that i’m gonna need a bigger board for it. I chose the smallest doily i’ve made and you can see it’s still couldn’t fit all the pointy edge.

Up until now i still consider myself as a beginner knitter.  I’ve only known how to knit and purl. When i found this pattern, i believe it’s time to challenge myself into the next level of knitting. After few rows, i keep making mistakes and leave some big holes, then i’d have to started it all over again. Quite frustrating but i must finish it with minimum miscount stitches, for the sake of my own satisfaction :D

Well now these two little brats are also such a big distraction during my crafty time. They seems so curious with the yarn and keep chasing me (or the yarn, particularly).  Does everyone with dogs also experience the same thing?

But how could one be mad at such a cute funny looking face like these, even after all the troubles they’ve made, haha.

The goal is to finish at least two projects by the end of this week.

Righty-o, happy weekend and enjoy yourself, free souls!!!

Double Trouble

9 Jul

I‘m beat. That’s how i sum up my life in these past few months.  Emotionally and physically worn out. It’s one of those days that you feel like everything that you do, you can’t do it right and end up messed up big time *sigh*. I can’t even write one single post in this blog for nearly 2 months *double sigh*. Crochet project? Nah-ah,  i can barely touch my hook.

Today i force myself to do this post to share one of my amusement between my insane days.

Look at those happy faces. How can you not smile looking at the cuteness they made. That little furball creature? That’s Marx, the Miniature Schnauzer we adopted 2 weeks ago to accompany Momo, our Basenji. Photo below was taken from the second day he’s here with us.  They seem to get along nicely, even though they  alternately bugging and biting one to another, which is alright, i guess that’s how they play :D . Besides it’s cute and funny to watch.

Last Sunday morning we took the dogs for their first walk together. It was fun. The dogs seemed excited also.

“Hey shorty, let’s go!”
“Can i take a rest for a minute?”

As always, i’m having a hard time took a good shot of Momo, she’s so energetic, only stops for a good sniff of  a wet grass and then continue to walk (read: force to run).

Mo’s Butt

Momo seemed upset when we decided it’s time to went home. She refused to be picked up onto the Vespa  and just sat there while gave us “you go home, i still wanna walk outside” kinda look. What a one tough cookie this girl is.

“Oh c’mon, do we have to stop now?”
Duo Mister

I just realize the last post i wrote is the one about Momo, but i assure you this blog isn’t a dog blog, i promise :D . I just can’t help myself to share the excitement that now we’re having those two four-legged-creatures and there’ll be another stories of our future journeys appear here every once in a while.

Enjoy your weekend, peeps!! Woof woof!!

Momo – The Speed Runner

18 May

Hi everyone… meet Momo, our newest occupant, a 7 months old Basenji girl. This is the very first time we have a dog. Aside from the joy she has and will bring to our life, it’s also very frustrating to potty train her. From what i read, it’s quiet a surprise how a 7 months old dog wasn’t already potty trained. My best guess is because she never been trained before and obviously the previous breeder wasn’t exactly being honest to us. We’re gonna face a hard time handling this particular issue, but i think it’s gonna worth it. Basenji is an intelligent type of dog and carries many other great characteristic. We’re lucky to have her.

Here’s few shots i took this afternoon. It’s a quiet rare moment since Basenji is a type of dog who loves to run, in speed, really. When i YouTube-ing Basenji training, Momo heard the sound from my laptop and she got curious. For a couple minutes she just stood on the laptop watching the video. Too cute :D

Here’s Momo and The Husband :)

Anyway… yesterday i crocheted these pocket camera pouch. It’s fun to make and wasn’t took a lot of time.

The red one is still in progress.

Home Made Bazaar

12 May

This is the part 2 of previous event held by some fellows.

As shown on the poster above, this event includes;

* mural

* art exhibition

* mass drawing

* woodcutting workshop

* t-shirt screen printing

* comicbook compilation launching

* indie movie screening

* t-shirt and merchandise selling

It’ll be another exciting and interesting event for this week.

What excites me even more is that i’m considering to contribute on it.

I’ll try to sell some of my crochet and knitted items, also in order to determine how’s the appreciation would be.

I put no high expectation though, yet hoping the good result.

So…..

I made few simple projects with average price yarn so i can come up with reasonable price items to sell.

Here are some of them;

A knitted scarf and crocheted pouch from the same yarn.

Bags (not finished yet).I still have to attach the handle and give some lining to it.

Some earflap hats.

And another random things.

Next post will be about the event itself and i’ll blog how my selling result. *fingers crossed*

Gotta go now. Poof!!

Yet Another Scarfiness

5 May

I  have to bombard you with few shots of my newest scarf. Why? Because i love it, LOL.

Twist it once.

Knot it like a tie.

Or wrap it all around.

And then i’m going crazy and wear it as a head band. I look like a gypsy girl or some sort, ha!.

A work-in-progress for this moment is another scarf too, duh! This time i knit it. I can’t really call myself a knitter. But then i remember something and made a conversation with the other me;

Me: “i can do a garter stitch”

The other me: “yeah, why don’t you make one simple project with it?”

Me: “i can make a scarf, i guess”

The other me: “yeah, you do that

So here i am, knitting this colorful scarf.
